What is the best music to listen to while doing homework?
I’ve always felt that maybe listening to instrumental music, such as long drawn songs by Pink Floyd without lyrics, were great to listen to because there were no words to distract me as I work. Does anyone have any other suggestion of what music to listen to while I work? It doesn’t necessarily have to be rock, or instrumental, just music that wouldn’t be found distracting. Thanks!
Well I’ve heard some classical music such as bethoven and mozart can make you smarter! Don’t know if thats true though… but there is something about this kind of music that make people calmer and more focused

The typical Mahler performance is studied from four perspectives: (1) the history of the person of Mahler in the Concertgebouw and the tradition that was built around the composer and performances of his works, particularly by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; (2) the role of Mahler in the present-day programming of the hall, audience types attending these performances, and the space of the Main Hall; (3) verbal and non-verbal audience responses to performances of symphonies by both Mahler and Bruckner, presented on the basis of online questionnaires and video footage of audience members listening to the symphonies; (4) the event of the Mahler performance as analyzed using concepts from the field of ritual theory.;The conclusion of the study is that performances of Mahler’s symphonies are highly effective in the Concertgebouw due to the historical, symbolic, and spatial contexts in which they take place. More specifically, as a participant-observer in a National Writing Project Summer Institute, I describe and examine the deliberations between a small group of teachers as they collaborate to craft a response letter to each of the teachers who demonstrate their teaching practices.;This dissertation focuses on what teachers in this response group discuss and deliberate, as well as how individual teachers craft positions of authority and of trusted professional peers. Like so many projects of its nature, this self-titled album began with tapes and discs traded in the mail between artists. Eventually the two parties, Germany’s glitchy electronic rockers the Notwist and U.S. left-field hip-hoppers Themselves, assembled together in Germany to recorded the finishing touches that would glue the fragments and puzzle pieces together. The finished piece is a decidedly dark and murky musical excursion into a realm of percolating electronics, moody jazz elements, bizarre raps, ethereal acoustic guitars, and sad pianos. As would be expected, some tracks sound untouched by one-half of the collaborators. “Men of Station” comes across like a Neon Golden B-side, and it’s difficult to understand what Themselves could have added, because it contains every earmark of the Notwist but nothing more. Likewise, “Ghostwork” feels like a typical offering from Doseone and crew, with perhaps just a scattering of xylophone and a skittering sampler contributed by the Acher brothers. Thus, it’s likely that fans of either band might appreciate only half of the album, as the artists’ musical oeuvres are so different. But while some of the album feels like a compilation of the two bands, truly collaborative songs where creative input seems evenly spread, such as “Perfect Speed,” present something fresh and innovative. Indeed, there are moments such as “Tin Strong” and “Walk” that come across as so musically alien in outright genre-splicing that a listener would be hard-pressed to describe just what musical style is being heard. Is it quirky underground rap, ambient electronica, moody industrial dirge, or John Cage-style experimentation? It is likely that fans of the Notwist’s traditional melodies might find many of these ten songs a difficult listen, and it’s equally likely that anyone enamored with Themselves mig… |

Bluesy like it’s no one’s business yet voluptuously funky in a contemporary way, Adele rocks out 19 with a unique voice and gritty sound that dazzle endlessly. Synthesizing blues, jazz, folk, soul, and even electric pop, Adele mystifies through her mature songwriting skills and jaw-dropping arrangements. As the album opens with “Daydreamer,” Adele’s illusionary instrument — over minimal sounds — engulfs the listener with a gorgeous feeling of awe and wonderment. On “Melt My Heart to Stone” and the bona fide hit “Chasing Pavements,” Adele allows herself to soar over the strings and power her way through these incredible songs.
